Dual curved lid box in maple and sapele
A 'his and hers' ring and bling box. Like a lot of my work it features hand-cut dovetails in contrasting timbers. I did this as an experiment with making curved lids. The lids are cut from solid, not coopered or laminated. The interior features a lift-out tray in each half with mitred linings and dividers, the trays supported on similar mitred linings in the main carcase. The lids pivot on short pieces of brass rod and the rear edges are shaped to enable them to stand open for ease of use.
